The most populous city in the United States, anchoring the largest metropolitan area in the world, New York is a global center for the arts, medicine, live theater, communications, food, finance, music, fashion, and culture. New York is home to numerous world-class museums, unique attractions , Broadway theaters, endless dining options, diverse nightlife, and infinite shopping possibilities. It is also home to nearly 9 million people, collectively the most ethnically diverse population in the world, with an estimated 800 native languages spoken among its inhabitants.
Often referred to as New York City, to distinguish it from the state in which it resides, or just “the city” to locals, New York comprises hundreds of distinct neighborhoods spread among the city’s five geographic boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Manhattan, the 23-square-mile island lying between the Hudson and East Rivers, is the business, tourism, and entertainment center of the city, as well as home to numerous quiet residential neighborhoods. In its center lies the 843-acre Central Park, home to walking and biking paths, a lake, thick woods, sports fields, an ice-skating rink, zoo, nature sanctuary, carousel, outdoor theater, a castle, and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. Fun fact: Central Park is the most filmed park in the world!

Your Guide to a Healthy On-Site Experience
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) is looking forward to welcoming attendees in person at CTO Plus 2022. We at CRF care about the health and safety of all meeting participants and are working hard to create a safe environment by implementing strict public health measures. We continually take guidance from the state and city of New York, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and we are complying with their health and safety recommendations. As such, our team is working closely with the New York Marriott Marquis to ensure a safe experience for all attendees.
To Attend CTO Plus 2022
CRF will ask you on-site to present proof of full vaccination with an FDA- or WHO-authorized COVID-19 vaccine. Your documentation must show that you are fully vaccinated. According to the CDC, you are considered fully vaccinated:
- Two weeks after receiving your second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- Two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
After presenting your vaccine documentation, you will be able to proceed to the badge pick-up table on-site.
In New York City, all customers, employees, and vendors are required to be vaccinated for all indoor dining at restaurants, bars, catering/event facilities, and any other indoor sit-down dining options. This applies to all fitness centers, entertainment venues, nightclubs, and hotel venues such as the New York Marriott Marquis, where CTO Plus 2022 will be held. This requirement went into effect August 16, 2021.

CTO Plus 2022 Official Hotel
For registered participants who require housing, CRF has reserved a block of rooms at the New York Marriott Marquis, the site of the meeting, at a special group rate (subject to availability).
To book your hotel for CTO 2022, you must be registered for the program. If you have not already done so, register now for CTO Plus 2022.
After you register, check your email for your registration confirmation, which includes information on how to book your stay at the group rate (subject to availability).
Deadline: Book your room by February 9, 2022. After that date, hotel accommodations and the preferred group rate at the New York Marriott Marquis will be subject to availability.
Cancellation: The New York Marriott Marquis, as per its group-rate policy, does not issue refunds for cancellation within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival date. If you need to cancel your room, you will receive a full refund if you notify the hotel of your cancellation at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date. After that time, your credit card will be charged for a one-night stay and applicable taxes and fees.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA). at just 9 miles east of the New York Marriott Marquis, is the closest airport and serves domestic U.S. cities and some Canadian cities. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), at 17 miles southwest, and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), at 17 miles southeast from the conference site, serve both domestic and international flights. Notwithstanding the proximity of the airports, car-travel time can vary widely, depending on traffic. Please plan accordingly.
Traveling here from outside the United States?
You need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than one day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19. This policy went into effect on December 6, 2021. Please see full details of the U.S. policy.
New York City has ample public transportation via subway, bus, and commuter railroad. From outside the state of New York, public transportation includes Amtrak, New Jersey Transit, PATH, and bus transportation to/from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. You can also hail a yellow NYC taxi on the street or call a ride service such as Uber or Lyft.
Parking In New York
Bringing a car to New York is not recommended. You would not be able to park on the street, and garage parking is very expensive. If you do plan to drive to New York, check this list of parking garages near the New York Marriott Marquis. In addition, valet parking is available at the Marriott Marquis for $95 per day.
